Lemon Tree Cafe

Through a recommendation we discovered (we are not locals) this breakfast/lunch eatery in central Shepparton. Fortunately we booked ahead as it was packed with people waiting. We were three persons and the staff pleasantly and efficiently seated us at a table outside; that behaviour continued throughout our stay. I highlighted the phrase “all day” as it truly was save for the fact that a number of the specials were savoury additions to a usual breakfast item - this made for excellent choices and we were not let down. The pricing was sensible and presentation very good.
I certainly recommend it to any visitor BUT book ahead.

Amazing food, but very noisy
We looked up tripadvisor and this was number 1. It did not disapoint regarding the food. I had the green eggs benedict, oh my goodness it was AMAZING!!!!! and only $15.95. My partner had avacado, feta and poached eggs, also amazing. The quality and flavour of the food was outstanding. The staff were excellent, very friendly and efficient. My only challenge with this fabulous cafe was the noise. So many happy people squashed into one area was a bit on the loud side for us. Try reserving a table outside, but definately go there.

Always good
Best breakfast in Shepparton, service is always friendly and efficient, meal options offer something for most and coffee is pretty good
This cafe offers both indoor and alfresco dining. Really busy venue which has friendly and efficient staff. The Wife and I both had breakfast had thoroughly enjoyed both the meal and the coffees. Would certainly recommend.
The Last Straw Cafe
Address: 24-26 Keppel St, Shepparton VIC 3630
Phone: (03) 5822 4990
nside our straw walls, The Last Straw Cafe brings together earthy Thai cuisine with freshly, roasted coffee beans from around the globe.
THE FOOD
We pride ourselves on providing traditional Thai food with fresh, locally produced ingredients. In our open kitchen we have created an environment where customers and staff engage on a personal level, which is part of the Last Straw culture.
Each day there are 4 to 5 dish choices on the menu that varies daily. All dishes are made from the freshest ingredients that are sourced daily and prepared to order.
The Last Straw is a solar passive design that is made from wheat straw bales and hand rendered with sand and lime. The thick rustic yellow render with 90 year old exposed saw-tooth trusses (from the Ardmona Cannery) and polished concrete gives the building an organic, wholesome feel while being very energy efficient.
The décor with soft coloured tones has furniture made from recycled timber, set among retro laminex tables and chairs from the 60’s, as well as a 1970’s functional record player.
Sprinkled around the venue are a collection of antique coffee brewing equipment and a state of the art commercial coffee roaster from Turkey. The open style kitchen is the engine room for preparing exotic Thai food made to order.
THE COFFEE
As well as the food, we also roast coffee on site. We source high quality estate green beans from exotic origins.
Each day we offer a different coffee bean origin or blend extracted in an antique coffee machine, bring the coffee flavours and characters of the work to your palette.
Friends took us to this oasis in the middle of a light industrial estate. Odd location but superb Thai food.
A choice of seven or eight dishes, great coffee and a sort of quirky retro decor. There is a courtyard and outside area too.
We would never have found the Straw without being told it was there, but we will definitely return now we know.
I have lunch with friends at The Last Straw at least twice each month and always look forward to their delicious food.... the staff are as fantastic as the food.. also every request is seen too within minutes.. cost of food is perfect..
Superb Thai food, great coffee, great service, great atmosphere!! Meals were on the table within 5 minutes!!
Few dishes to choose from are all top quality. Serviced by the owners, his wife, a Thai herself, is the cook. No need to fly to Thailand! The atmosphere, the building itself, decoration, etc. it is a must if you love truly Thai food and...More

This is the perfect place to go if you are searching for an upmarket café with good service and a wide range of Italian cuisine. This was refreshing to find a busy café with character in this large town. Owner is friendly, the staff are...More
While we stayed in Shepparton we visited this restaurant twice and loved every mouthful. From mouth watering gnocchi to linguine seafood ( seafood very fresh) to risotto all dishes Devine. The warm olives and anchovy’s scrumptious. Thank you thank you. Italian Sicilian at its best. If you doubt my post I’m an Italian food lover, follow my posts.

Several coffees and lunch on one occasion, we are generally impressed. Coffee served promptly and at the correct temperature was great. My meal was Gnocchi with meat from lamb shanks, and was tasty, certainly sufficient, but slightly expensive.
I start my work day with a coffee from here . we also use it for work meetings and functions and have never been disappointed.
They have the Best coffee here and the girls are lovely. I love being able to phone my coffee order ahead if I’m running late to work and can just quickly run in and keep going.
Staff were friendly and we were served straight away and coffee was good also. Positioned on a corner where traffic was quiet.

The is of good quality and a little different to the norm, but also a little expensive for what you get. Service is friendly & our meals came out quite quickly. Coffee was also good. Overall a good experience.
Went here after a morning of shopping and found the food and service here was really nice. The staff was very nice and will be back again
Some lovely meals can be bought here, that is to have there or even take away with plenty of gluten free options. Good coffee
The title says it all. Gourmet food, a little different than your traditional. Great homely service, cosy rooms and pleasant outdoor setting.
Great place! Great food! Lovely peeps! Gf, some dairy free, vegetarian and vegan options. Great little find in shep, will defo be back yummy x

We visited Noble Monks twice - once for breakfast and once for coffee.
Both times, service was friendly and coffee was prompt and very good indeed. With breakfast, my fruit juice, which was excellent, arrived last - after both the coffee and food. This was minor but odd and there was an apology for the delay.
The second time, there were no such issues - service was friendly, prompt and efficient.

The venue must have been an old warehouse, or large shop as there a different rooms depending on the level of privacy required.
Staff were friendly and the service reasonably quick.
Breakfast menu had a choice of traditional (bacon, eggs and hash brown) or modern (smashed avocado) meals.
Coffee was good and table is offered chilled water on arrival.
Not on the main street, which probably lends itself to some privacy.
There is metered parking on the street for maximum of 2 hours.
big wholesome breakfasts with all the extras!! smaller option also available.. Freshly squeezed juices too.. & always great service
Had breakfast here. It has a nice interior, the staff are friendly and attentive. I had eggs on toast and a hot chocolate, both were nice. A variety of food on the breakfast menu.
Good food, good service, spacious seating. One of my favourites in Shepparton They open early for breakfast

Located in Shepparton, The Collective Restaurant is a perfect combination of exceptional food, first-class wines mixed with great company.
Headed by chef John Marsden, The Teller Collective has reimagined what it means to dine out. The menu comprises of small plates designed to share, locally sourced beef and larger plates including classics and shared feasts.
We all know that to match great food we need equally fantastic wine, so with that in mind, we have curated arguably one of the best and diverse wine menus in the area.
Stumbled across this place out walking in the morning so thought I’d give it a go. I wasn’t disappointed, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and a great menu. Had the breakfast board and it was exactly what I wanted. Won’t be my last visit that’s for sure.
This quaint cafe offers light food with coffee. Food is of good quality but quite expensive for what you in my opinion. Gourmet Pizza's are a speciality.
My friend and I stopped in for a coffee but were tempted by the food appearing in front of other patrons. We were not disappointed. The lasagna and the pie were absolutely glorious and the coffee was great as well.
The Fryers Street Food Store is a casual cafe, ideal for a quick lunch or coffee with friends. Service, food, coffee and ambience are all very pleasant. The menu is not extensive but offers enough choice to suit most palates and dietary needs.
What a fantastic little cafe. Excellent fresh and taste bud tempting range of pick ups and dine in options.
Violet Town Cafe
Address: 37 Cowslip St, Violet Town VIC 3669
Phone: (03) 5798 1380
Absolutely must stop in for lunch, dinner or drinks. This authentic historic brownstone beauty was built in 1800's and boasts loads of local culture.
Beware the woman here don't drink cocktails, just scotch and beer but they make a mean rum and coke.
Mostly bottles and cans but a few Aussie beers will be found on tap.
Our garlic prawns (shrimp) on rice were delicious and filling as well as a tasty tomato bacon soup.
Pull off the motorway and hit this spot.
Ask about the local train story. This is one of the no waiters spots in Australia. Possibly stay the night if your ready to stop. Antique store nearby is a bonus.
Only had coffees and an ice cream, but they proved instantly you don’t need to be in a big city to get a great coffee.
On our way back from Albury, we decided to stop in Violet town for lunch. It was a Sunday and we weren't expecting much to be open and planned to just go with the flow. We went into Violet Town Café and looked at the bain marie offerings...decided to order fish and chips. We don't have fish and chips often (second time this year) but we are glad we made that choice. The serving size of the fish was quite reasonable and their minimum chips was a little more than we expected. The blue grenadier and flake were really moist and nicely cooked. The oil they used was fresh and the whole meal including drinks (coke) was under $25. We ate it in the park next to the café and were joined by a friendly Kookaburra.
Stopped here for a bite to eat while on the way to Glenrowan. Great little town and the only cafe'. So many tourists here even though how little the town is. I just got a simple Ham and Cheese sandwich and dim sim. Cost me...More

Belcibo & Co. is Shep, easy access on road to Benalla heading out of town, left side next to Shepparton Market. It may be easily missed,(up road from Australia Post) but once inside a very relaxing yet lively cafe with an excellent selection of freshly-made pasta dishes, sandwiches, wood-fired pizzas (Check what days Fri , Sat,) and great coffee!
With a great team of friendly staff. I visit 2 -3 times a year when in Shep and Quality, Service never deviate from their high standards
Visit and enjoy Belcibo & Co.
87 Benalla Road, Shepparton, Vic., AU
Da WanderingWabbits passed through Shepparton, en route across Victoria from the Silo Art Trail in the west to see Benalla's street art in the east.
In keeping with our road-trip's "art" theme, Shepparton has a great collection of painted cows ("Mooving Art") in Monash Park...but that's another story.
Shepparton also has BELCIBO & Co., on the A300 heading east out of town. It may be easily missed, hidden among nondescript ribbon development, and snuggled beside Shepparton Market - fruit&veg...but once inside, you'll find BELCIBO is a lively cafe with an excellent selection of freshly-made pasta dishes, sandwiches, wood-fired pizzas etc., and great coffee!
It's open for breakfast and lunch, with a great team of friendly staff.
We loved the quirky ceiling decorations - a collection of old classroom chairs suspended from the roof! - and heartily recommend this cafe.
Great food, easy to get to and a very relaxing environment, not to mention the amazing coffee and service
Belcibo make authentic wood fired Pizza and are closest example of a Pizza that you would have in Italy. The venue is modern rustic & the staff are welcoming. There is a separate, more elaborate menu to the Pizzas & have great breakfast & coffee options as well. Highly recommend

While the ownership has changed over the years the staff have always had a passion for making a great coffee. It is popular and has a regular clientele of coffee lovers.
We called in for an iced drink. We ended up having an iced mocha each, they were awesome, definitely recommend this coffee shop👌👌
Had a quick lunch here. There were quite a few food options, and food was of a good quality. The standout was the coffee and vanilla slice. The coffee was flavorsome and had a nice depth. I’m quite fussy with my coffee - long black...More
Delicious freshly brewed coffee. Beans ground in store and can be bought to take home. Great variety of focaccias, cakes etc. Nice atmosphere. Grab a soft comfy lounge chair near the window and watch the world go by!
Friers Cafe
Address: 127 Fryers St, Shepparton VIC 3630
Phone: (03) 5822 2181
This is a noisy restaurant but probably adds to the ambience. Good food, good coffee and good service. What more do you need
Food was reasonably priced and menu had something for everyone. Cakes were delicious and food was fresh
The simple scrambled eggs on sourdough with coffee is enjoyable. Menu includes various options and additions that appear to satisfy most fellow diners. Recommended.
We have just moved permanently to Shepparton and have made Friers our one stop shop for for our weekend breakfast and lite lunches during the week. The food is excellent and the staff make you feel at home. The cafe is very homely and just makes you want to come back time and again.
I visited Friars cafe for a coffee and was sitting outside with my dogs when the waitress brought water out for them. Nice touch! I had a great capucchino and went in to pay. It had a great ambience inside and I couldn't help thinking I would love to have had lunch there! A great place and highly recommended.

Without a doubt, from now on when I’m in Shepparton I will have my lunches in there. Quick and pleasant service. Delicious food.
The only tiny thing I could whinge about is that they need better lighting inside as from outside looked like it was closed. However this place won’t let you down.

We were there for dinner the second time this year. We had BBQ pork ribbs, a burger and taste platter for two...wow, wow, wow...best textmex food ever. "Melbourne quality" (which means excellent) and large size dishes for a reasonable price...absolutely worth the money. Highly recomended for going out for a good feast...alone, two or more

Stumbled across this place by accident when we were looking for something the eat on a Thursday night. The place was packed but the owner went out of her way to get us a table in there courtyard. I had the Cuban sandwich with homemade pickled vegetables and succulent smoky pulled pork in it and I can honestly say that the combination of flavours was like nothing I have ever experienced, my husband hat the Po boy with smoked brisket and the homemade BBQ sauce and smoked garlic aioli were sooo goood!
What an amazing atmosphere, great food, staff and the outdoor area is just so relaxing. We were in a group for a birthday and service was fast considering how packed to place was on a Saturday night.
