Victoria Park Lake

It's great location for a BBQ or picnic, which I have done both. I reconnected with lost family and across the road is KFC and Hungry Jacks and if you have a car a great Fish & Chip shop down the road.

Great for a BBQ and Walk

Set right next door to town we were surprised by the great facilities. BBQs available (no pay) beautiful walkways toilets and green grass. Took out time to cook a few snags and engage with the Blue Wrens and water birds. Relaxing

A beautiful morning walk around the lake

We just completed a beautiful morning walk around the lake. After a hot day yesterday, it was so refreshing walking around the lake this morning. It is a relatively short 4 km walk, with some bushland, boardwalks, and many water birds to spot. Quite lovely and well maintained.

Great collection

We decided to turn around after driving past this place. Which I’m glad we did, there was a great collection and wide variety of cars in the showroom.

But also to my surprise the Harley collection is one of the best I’ve seen, with bikes from the 1920’s on show the almost new ones.
Not to mention the collection of push bikes dating back to the 1800’s to go along with all the other stuff.

Very interesting, particularly for the car and bike enthusiast

For a relatively small outlay - I paid the seniors rate $10 - you get to see a lot of interesting cars, motor bikes and push bikes. These vary from vintage, over 100 years old, up to near present day. In addition an attached museum, at no extra charge, tells the story of the Furphy foundry, which has now grown into a major agricultural equipment firm. Lots of detail to read, although the amount of description for the exhibits varied from thorough to just a title. You can easily spend a couple of hours there. Note that the items being exhibited change, as the museum has many exhibits on loan from the owners for varying periods.

Great collection of bikes and cars

This is really...A great little Museum ,some fantastic old racing cars , collection of old Harleys.and classic cars ...the cars get changed around from time to time ...also a gift shop with everything related to the classics...worth a look if your passing through or staying for the weekend if that's your interest, you just might see that car that you wondered what happened to it..

Go - just go!!

Well worth the price of admission- and more!! Was let by a friendly lady who told us the history and about the generosity of the donor companies who made this possible.
Once inside, I was very impressed with the vehicle lineup - and the fact that it is changed every 3 months.
Nice gift shop and no pressure to buy.
Surprisingly for a museum, we were made to feel welcome and that we weren’t interrupting their day.
Go, enjoy and relive some memories of vehicles you had almost forgotten.

Terrific

Great collection of cars that is constantly refreshed. Some ripper restorations on display as well. Motor bikes, bicycles and the Furphy museum add another dimension. Friendly staff, enjoyed our visit immensely.

A must see

I have always wanted to check out these cows and I was not disapointed. So clever and look amazing. Definately worth a detour to check these out.

Wonderful fun

For those who don't know, Moooving Art is a collection of near life-size model cows of different themes. They are scattered around the shire and get moooved occasionally.
The tourist information centre has a list of them and where they are. If you go on a cow chase to try to find them all, chances are that some will have been moooved. That's half the fun; along with trying to identify the often-cryptic themes on the cows. Sometimes cows need to be repaired and other times they are reborn as different cows. It's a great fun thing. I wish more councils would take this sort of initiative. Currently there must be close to a hundred either on display or in the workshops. Well done Shepparton shire.

Worth a look

Kids enjoyed looking at the cows and different art work on them. Worth a look and in a nice park so good space for the kids to run around

Well-behaved Bovines

This colourful herd greeted our first-ever arrival to Shepparton, faux-grazing away on the pasture as they do.
Necessitated a circle about to come and pat the wee beasties at close quarters.
The wherefores and whyfores have escaped me somewhat, but a town that has mutant psychodelic plastic moomoos roaming freely can't be all bad.

Enjoy these cows

Seem the painted bollards at Geelong and painted koalas at Port Macquarie, so had to walk about and see the cows, unfortunately could see all apparently there is just over 100, but happy with what we saw even thou people looked at you weird while taking photos of them

Fantastic for the young and young at heart

We visited this place for the first time and we were impressed.

Great for adults too, swimming, sauna, spa...

We can't wait to go back!

Wow!

Such an interesting little gallery and great exhibitions even though it's pretty small! Really loved it, would definitely recommend visiting if you're in Shepparton. Also, the lady who worked there at front was just delightful and super welcoming.

So pleased we visited

SAM is a small regional
Gallery. We had a wonderful experience. There are some well known Australian works eg. Streeton, Von Guerard and McCubbin and some innovative pieces which cover a diverse range of art. The amazing Sydney Myer ceramic competition works were on display while we were there. A new building is to be constructed by the lake to house the Gallery. Don't miss this regional gem when in Shepparton

Great collection of art and exhibitions

I'm not much of an art lover, but I have enjoyed viewing both well known works as well as work by the locals. Meter parking is available just outside, and free parking out the back.

Ceramics Central

Great collection of Australian ceramics ... well curated and beautifully displayed. Plus works by a selected contemporary artist showcased at the entry.

Great place to visit and spend a while

This is only a small art museum but well worth a visit. I was fascinated by a couple of the artworks and spent some time examining them. There are paintings by well known Australian artists, as well as aboriginal artists, and more recent works.
There wasn't a display upstairs when we visited but I am sure it would be well worth visiting when there is.

Shepparton Heritage Centre

Excellent little museum of Shepparton history

We spent an absorbing couple of hours at the museum while visiting Shepparton. Very friendly and informative welcome and then you can go through the museum at your own pace. Lots of interesting memorabilia of past life in Shepparton. NIce there are chairs scattered throughout the museum so you can relax a bit while absorbing each display

Lots of memories

A lot of the stuff is old and “junky” , but it brought back a lot of memories for me. Friendly attendants and we were made to feel very welcome. Like Aladdin’s cave, this seems to go on and on. Well worth the entry fee.

Great little spot of history

Very quaint little museum. Clean and well presented.
Entrance fee was fine and the historical books for sale were great. I loved how people can add there own little comments on sticky notes all around the museum ( way better than a visitors book that no one reads ) my boy is home schooled so he got some great ideas to do little projects for himself as projects ( the matchstick post office and the old screw Star of David sparked his interest)

Good display of local history

This is an excellent Rural Heritage Heritage Centre specialising in local history of Shepparton some fascinating items of how people lived in the past and things they used in daily life spend sometime reading many of the displays to get the feel of life in the past and the people that made the area we see today

Well worth visiting

Amazing centre looks very small but when you go inside it opens up into several big light and airy rooms. Such a lot of interesting things from a 16th Century chair donated by Shepparton UK (thanking student in early 1900's for sending dried fruits to them) to war medals, china, 19th century clothing the old post office clock dial face etc. In the room on the right as you go in is a room full of photographs which have been rescued by Geoff (Jeff?) or donated, full of precious historical value. Its now open every day.
Cost $5 good wheelchair access

Absolute highlight of my visit to Shepparton

The botanic gardens have really evolved since I was here 4 years ago. Lovely walks, all signposted and new sculpture gardens - really inspiring. Now I confess that I am a diehard gardener and just love being outdoors but I think there is something here for everyone. Open space for kids to run around in, easy ground level walks and the more challenging trot up the hill for breathtaking views 360 degrees. Interesting native plantings with good signage. A tip - make sure you are wearing sturdy walking shoes or runners as most of the paths are gravel/ dirt.

G SC have made an interesting garden. Certainly worth seeing. A must for everyone. All ages can enjoy. The climb up the hill can be achieved ,slowly or for those fit enough a great work out.

I want to go back in 5 years and see the change!

This place is beautifully serene and new. The attention and care to the plants and layout is very obvious.
This is a new garden area, and I only wish I could see the change and the growth over the years.
People were strolling, and gardening and even hard out exercising when I was there.
Walk, run, strollers, pushchairs, bikes...all is catered for

Excellent view for sundowns

Lovely place for Botanical interested people with a perfect spot to watch Aussie sundowns. Behind River Side Placa

Beautiful gardens, 360* views and bush walks.

This former landfill site has been transformed into a series of beautiful gardens. This place continues to be transformed with new gardens are areas being developed each time I visit. Great plans are in place as you may notice on the signage at the entrance.

There's many trails to explore with a highlight hiking up to the lookout with great 360* views across the Goulburn Valley and Strathbogie Ranges. My young children love rock hopping across the concrete formations, seeing the planes fly by and running up and down the zig zag path! There's a picnic tables and seating so BYO lunch and soak up the scenery.

Kidstown well worth a visit.

We regularly take our grandchildren to Kidstown between Shepparton and Mooroopna.. In Victoria Australia.
It is always a wonderful experience. The cost to enter is a gold coin donation, plus a small fee for the train rides. These only operate on weekends as they are volunteer run. But worth the cost to see the big smiles on the children's faces.
Other attractions are the maze, and the slides. It is a very well set out venue, and often has special, events . Easter and other holidays are well worth a visit.
The length of your visit will depend on how much time you have at your disposal
There are picnic areas so you can take a picnic, or there is a cafe/ kiosk. It s easily accessed using strollers and wheelchairs. There is a bit of walking so make sure you have comfortable shoes appropriate to outdoor activity. And be happy to let the kids run free and get dirty..

Safe secure play

Took the grandkids for picnic and play, and we are always impressed. Has toilet facilities, barbecue facilities, and slides, swings and activities for all age groups and includes wheelchair access to many areas. Playground is securely fenced with child safe gates. Plenty of shaded play areas.

Great spot for kids' parties

My grands have had a couple of birthday parties here. It is ideally located, has fun playground equipment, tables and plenty of space and free parking.

A great playground for all

This is a great interactive playground and does cater for all abilities. Picnic tables and lawn areas for those who want to spend some time here. Always a fun time here with the kids.

Playground Shepparton

A great playground for all children. The surrounds are secure so you don't need to be watching your children all of the time. They have provided wonderfull facilities. My grandchildren love visiting here when in Shepparton. The council in their wisdom hid it away from the public and the main road, but worth searching for. From the main road it is behind the lake next door the Aquamoves.

Amazing customer service!

We recieved amazing service and the lady that served us went above and beyond to answer all of our questions and provided us with lots of relevant brochures and also a map of Shepparton. I would highly recommend that this centre is your first point of contact when planning a trip in Shepparton and its surroundings.

Shepparon Visitor Centre

We came as a busload and picked up a lady from the visitor centre who directed the bus on a tour around town and she was excellent telling us about the history and current happenings of the town. Anyone visiting as a group like that are well advised to communicate with the Visitor Centre and see what they can offer as a guide

Souvenirs and information

This info centre and gift shop is just off the Goulburn Valley Highway. It has a range of books on the history of the area and souvenirs and gifts. There is meter parking just outside.

Ladies were extra helpful

The staff here were really helpful with accomodation and attractions to entertain our grandson. They helped us pick a cabin in a park and we had the best one on the lake it was so good thanks so mich.

Excellent advice

The 2 ladies who ran this shop on the day I arrived were so brilliant and knowledgeable, we stayed longer simply because they made fab suggestions on what to do. Shepparton is so easy to get around, and it is a great base for travelling out of town like Echuca and Swan Hill.
We checked out the Art museum, Mooving art around the township, Motor museum and Vic park. Also as suggested the Phillips cellar...sensational.

Great fishing

great fishing along the Goulburn river, close to the city and accommodation. There are some good camping points also, if you need to go bush. Very nice part of the Goulburn river.

Fishing trip.

Great fishing trip at Shepparton. There is an abundance of in the Goulburn River especially around Toolamba and Shepparton.

Great camping and fishing

The Goulburn river is one of the best kept secrets with its red gum tree forests , beautiful river and abundant fish,
The free camps in the Lower Goulburn National Park are numerous but you must leave your site cleaner than when you got there and abide by the campfire regulations. If this is done everyone will have a much more enjoyable visit.
The fishing can be done from the bank or boat with the Yellow Belly and Murray Cod abundant. Worms, shrimp, chicken, cheese, Baldi grubs and lures are all worth a try .
Make sure you know the local rules for lengths and fish quantities before you start . A Victorian fishing licence is also required .
Enjoy as we have

Gorgeous

We camped in Lower Goulburn National Park for a night. Camping is allowed but dogs, cats and firearms are not permitted. Also, fallen timber may be gathered for camp fires but must not be taken out of the park. Gorgeous area along the Goulburn River - the second longest river in Victoria, which is declared a heritage river.

Aboriginal art for sale in Shepparton

The gallery is operated by the local Aboriginal community and is a gallery and studio. You can purchase art, large and small pieces. Great artwork reflecting the local heritage.

Just beautiful

Some of the things on show are just special, extremely wonderful. We actually spent quite a lot of time in here just admiring all the wonderful works on display...

Beautiful art and amazing people

It is a lovely place to visit. You get to experience really good quality art and even have the change to speak to some of the artists.
There is a wide variety of artifacts for sale like jewelry, paintings, sculptures, vases, weaving and even emu eggs.

Communications Tower

Address: Off Maude Street MallShepparton, Greater Shepparton, Victoria 3630, Australia

A view

Shepparton is flat so if you go a steps that take you above the buildings all you really see is the roof's of the surrounding buildings. Not that exciting

Glad we did it

Some exercise after we sat in the car driving from Bendigo, great view, glad we did it, easy to find]

Get fit and enjoy the view

The tower is just of the main street in Shepparton. It is a good walk up the steps. Once at the top, you can enjoy a wider view of the city. Meter parking is available close by.

If you have the time and energy

This is about eight flights of stair's but if you have the time and energy it is worth the climb for a great view of the town

Thrilling excitement all the way

Went on January the 7th was 38 degrees. I got locked in and had to spend the night on the burning metal, i received third degree burns to my neck, Achilles heel and my right eyeball, i had to have surgery in the tower this resulted in my dinner date leaving me in my hour of need. lots of fun would go again.

Important part of our history!

We are so glad that this facility has reopened. It has many important artifacts from aboriginal history. My kids loved the displays and voiceover recording explaining the scenes. We hope that this facility can go to the next level of guides and presentations...

Bangerang

Our family were disappointed the centre wasn't opened on weekend day. No signage to indicate open times. This place could be a tourist attraction waiting to happen!

AMAZING. A must go for Indigenous artifacts adn culture

I found the place incredible. The range of Indigenous artifacts on display plus the amusing and knowledgeable tour guide, Rowland, was mind blowing. To be able to actually touch many of the artifacts like coolemans and spears. A must for everyone in Shepparton

Great education displays and Attendants

A good way to access the Bangerang culture and beliefs. Local indigious history, with a personal touch through the attendants.

Very intresting

Really enjoyed this place. I really enjoyed learning about the history of this country. We need more of these facilities and less plastic cows.

Such fun, a must for kids

We stopped here with a 5 year old and a 15 month old and it was tough to get either to leave. Something for all ages and we went on a day when was super quiet so this was advantageous as didn’t have to wait to use anything. Such an awesome idea having a good coin donation, we’ll worth it after spending a cpl hrs there

Fantastic!

For the price of a gold-coin donation, this is s fantastic playground that has something for kids of all ages, including big kids...
Two, little mazes, great monkey bar section, a long flying fox, lots of diggers in the sand pit, some great slides and playground equipment for younger kids. A beach volleyball court and a round swing. Great facts and figures about all things bovine.
The cafe is pretty standard - $5.00 for a plain meat pie. The miniature railway is fun.
You can spend a deceptively long time here, it's that fun.
Popular for birthday parties and plenty of shaded areas.

Great fun- hot day or would have spent more time here

Visited today. KidsTown is great value for money (gold coin entry) and train ride $3.50 per person. The park itself is beautiful with lots for the kids to do and plenty of places for mums and dads to sit and rest. All safe and so clean.
I would recommend taking your own food as the cafe is very limited. We didn’t eat there. And maybe don’t go on a 36 degree day like we did as it was sooooo hot. Enjoyable but hot. We would have spent much longer there but the heat (no fault of kids town obviously). I did see some very smart people cooking a bbq for their family (free use of the bbq). Would be an amazing place for a birthday party or family/ friends gathering with kids. Lots to do, see, play with. This was our third visit and we will come back... in the cooler months.

Great service

On my travels with my family
went to kidstown today
Wow what a great place for the kids so much to do and see and only a gold coin entry
Great value
Had a lovely family size pizza for only $10 made fresh in front of me and the cafe staff were great , and so friendly
A group beside me we're having hot chips and could hear them saying is this great
The staff r bringing our coffee and food out so we don't have to wait and we can catch our kids
Good work Kidstown
Will be back

Great Day Of Fun

We spent around five hours there - the staff were very friendly - invited us to join in on the different activities. Loved the go karts and the laser tag and the simulators. Not sure about the arcade games - a lot of places have gone without the tickets and the points just go onto your card. Maybe they need to think of that. Not a sensational range of prizes and a bit on the expensive side - would need to spend a bit of money to reach a decent point value

Love the go carts

Had the best day at Fun City Shepparton. The go carts and laser tag was so much fun. Great prices, great food and great friendly staff made made it a great day. Highly recommend if you’re looking for school holidays entertainment or just anytime

Fun city

Awesome place to go with kids and the family. Spent 3hrs there and could have stayed longer. Definitely will be back. Unfortunately some of the activities are alot dearer then they are worth. The spooky house was very poorly set up and shouldn't even be at a cost. Majority of others are great though

family day out place

Fantastic place to visit. The kids enjoyed all the activities especially the go kart. Very reasonable price. The place is cool enough to relieve the hot temperature outside. Would definitely go back & recommend with others.

awesome place to visit with the kids

Hello trip advisers Fun city in shepparton is an excellent entertainment place for the kids and adults the go karts are fun and fast has mini golf and VR and lots more it is a bit money hungry but if you have money you can have fun

Best food so far in Australia

Great food and service. Got the sausage curry with mash potatoes, peas and carrots. Best dish so far in Australia! Garlic prawn were great as well. Great prices to boot! Not a fancy place, but it was clean. Lots of locals it seemed.

Great Menu for Pub Food

We went here just to see what it was like after reading the reviews. Not disappointed. Has a very good menu board and the food is well presented and there is plenty of it. Would recommend.

Very good pub food

About 14 friends meet every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month for an evening meal and catch up time. We are all locals and have been frequenting the Royal Mail for over ten years now. The staff are very good and it is a pleasant place to meet. Two of us require a gluten free diet and the chef, Mat, is more than happy to over see our meals.

Royal mail

Great atmosphere , friendly service and great food. This is the most popular hotel in Mooroopna and bookings for meals are recommended .

Excellent place

I've been there several times. the place is brilliant, always clean, good service. it's am excellent place to join with friends, in family or your couple. Restaurant has delicious plates too
